Corday was inspired to record Helen Reddy's anthemic feminist hit song "I Am Woman" after performing it live at a Women's March down Main Street in Seal Beach, CA. "It got such a great response," explains Corday, "and it was super cool to see really young girls diggin' it too. I hope the song underlines their belief in themselves and the reminder that they can indeed do anything."
Corday's timeless ballad speaks volumes with a beautiful sparse production. Using powerful words, live cello and layers of strings behind a driving acoustic guitar and heartbeat drum cadence, Corday asks each and every one of us to show up with compassion for the human race. Inspired by George Floyd, this important composition is a plea for social justice and equality. We are all human.
Corday's raspy voice, heart-wrenching lyrics, and sultry guitar and cello skills fuel a one-of a kind performance that leave listeners aching for more. The bluesy deep synth-bass groove will rock you up and down the river, just like the tug of war in your heart as Corday journeys through new territory seeking relief from heartache, while intimate shower scenes portray the pain of her upstream battle.
